Melanie Herrmann's interest in the brain is a result of life experience as a mother of five and and teacher of many. She began her career with a BS degree in Early Childhood Education and an MS degree in Family Sciences from Brigham Young University. She taught public school kindergarten and resource early in her career, taking time out to raise her own young children. Her time at home included running a neighborhood preschool, The Children's Garden, where she experienced first hand the educational needs of diverse young learners. When her youngest daughter started first grade, Melanie returned to teaching kindergarten and ESL in the public schools. This was in the thick of No Child Left Behind, and her desire to bring all of her students to competency through developmentally appropriate teaching led to the development of the ABCs and All of Me early literacy program. Her interest and education in Neurofeedback were inspired by the needs of her own neurologically challenged son. She became OMC (Othmer Method) certified through EEG Institute in So. California and has been working as a neurofeedback clinician since 2008. She also became a certified PACE provider/trainer in February 2012.
As founder of Neurobility Link, her greatest desire is to bring hope to individuals and families who are struggling with cognitive/learning challenges. "Never settle. God has given each of us a glorious brain with the capacity to change beyond what we can even imagine. It's up to us to use it. Let's do what it takes to make it the best it can be."
Meredith Smith has a BM degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Brigham Young University. In her 14 years as a private piano teacher, she worked with students of a wide range of ages and ability levels. Her interest in discovering alternative approaches to teaching those who struggle to learn grew as a result of her own son’s challenges with reading and spelling. Her search for help led to her studying about break-throughs in brain science and the concept of neuroplasticity. She has seen first-hand how cognitive skills training with the PACE program can unlock a student’s real potential, building confidence and hope along the way.
